Care of Keeshond
CARE OF KEESHOND!
When I got our first Keeshond I had to learn to brush your dog's coat and handle properly.
This is not art, but training for both dog and owner.
Beginning with table training.
This is also a job as a breeder are beginning to do as well.
My dogs had to learn to lie, sit and stand on a table to be brushed, and on the back between my legs when i cut the nails, without the dog was scared.
A little treat makes this exercise much easier and Keese is quick to understand what it must review and accept.
A start to brush gently.
Everything should be nice and safe.
And do not forget (Lot`s of treats).
Keeshond does not have hair, but wool.
It has a thick under-wool, and topcoat.
Under-wool should be light and airy, with good insulation.
Keeshond sheds, but I do not notice as much of it as I wipe away 1 time at day and 1 time in the week when they dont sheds.
I have chosen to brush 1 time a week.
The big hair loss comes in the spring and autumn.
Then all at once.
But how nice it will be afterwards.
I`v brush carefully and often and blow for fur
death under, the wool must be removed otherwise the dog will suffer.
The day the bitch gets puppies, she will let go more hair when breastfeeding ends.
This applies to all breeds.
The correct order and maybe a B-vitamin will help cure well.
The coat can take commodity to be used for knitting but the house must be mixed with sheep's wool.
It is very important to brush your dog free of tangles before being bathed.
Is not the smooth coat before bathing a few problems to comb it out.
Use plenty of water and little shampoo.
But only when it is needed the dog is bathed.
2 reasons for this:
1 It can be difficult to get out all the shampoo and certainly this happens you run the risk that your dog gets skin infection.
Skin - infection.
Keeshond should not swim in salt water, to show than do it, one must rinse it thoroughly for salt on the skin can cause skin dermatitis.
Remember to blow the dog properly dry after bathing.
I put my dog on the side in a safe and sturdy table, or in your lap.
(Like a changing table for the dog).
Begins to brush from the middle of the belly (abdomen).
Brush a bit of time.
Layer upon layer until I come up in the middle of the back.
Going there from back to belly and combing through layer by layer again with a comb, so that all the hair from the skin is combed through.
Then brush and comb my long hair on the forelegs ..
Use a brush and a fine comb on the short hairs of the pot.
Flip the dog and do the same on the other side.
Rear (pants Keese).
Now, the dog must stand still.
This is somewhat difficult because they do not like being brushed back.
It helps with a supportive hand under its belly.
Brushes and combs his hind legs so that his pants are fine.
The dog may stand or lie down when I brush tail.
The collar and neck part with the ears.
Now the dog sit and I stand in front and brushes and combs the collar (bib).
Goes up the side of the dog and brush around the neck and head.
Around the ears must be very careful because there are often nodules (tangles).
Use a comb to comb around the ears.
One can fine-tunes your feet, but this is not necessary.
Keeshond should have cat-like paws.
It does not matter if there is any hair that Staats from the pot.
Remember to clip the claws a little bit each week.
That way you will never grow nerves and the dog get pain when you cut the claws.
The most important thing is that the dog is not afraid when this should happen.
However, it is wise to have a styptic agent nearby.
Remember treat first!
Now you can finish by brushing the dog from the tail and forward (not comb here) to get air in the coat.
The shake themselves and "Hey presto your dog has become a Beauty"
Shampo and Conditioner I use K9 Black Shampo and Conditioner. 3 ss of each in a 1,5 l soda botle , if the males have a lot of coat i use 2 botles. But remember to get all Shampo and Conditioner out :D Then blow dry :D
Much of this is taken out from the Kennel Infinity's side.
